In 1971, father Fernand Vermeersch and mother Nicole started a small butcher shop on the outskirts of St. Michiels.
His visits to the Ardennes inspired Fernand to sell big game in Flanders, which promptly established Wildhandel Vermeersch in 1973.
As brothers –Kristof and Didier– we grew up among the game, and after working in the business for years, we took over the torch at the end of the 1990s.
Wildhandel Vermeersch became Wild Vermeersch, and at that time, we were already investing heavily in growth through innovation and customer focus.
The company’s name was changed to GustoBel in 2024, reflecting our expanded offerings beyond game.
The game brand ‘Wild Vermeersch’ remains the undisputed flagship. In addition, we also offer a range of other premium meat products, ensuring our customers can enjoy our quality and service year-round.
At GustoBel, our mission is simple but profound: to deliver exceptional meat products that exceed our customers’ expectations.
